Beginning therapy is often about finding steadiness during times of change and making sense of what feels out of balance so you can move through challenges with a greater ease. My approach is grounded in the belief that health and well-being improve when care addresses the whole person -mind, body, and environment- and honors the many factors that influence how we feel and function. This work centers on creating a warm, collaborative space where insight and practical tools come together to help you move through change with clarity, self-understanding, and a stronger connection to yourself and others.
Therapy with me is integrative and relational, drawing on insight-oriented work alongside evidence-based strategies from cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based frameworks. It is tailored to each person’s needs and goals, emphasizing curiosity and self-compassion, while also developing tools that become foundations for lasting change.
Alongside my general psychotherapy practice, I have specialized experience in health psychology, which explores how emotional, behavioral, and physical factors interact to shape overall well-being. I work with individuals living with chronic illness, chronic pain, and health-related anxiety, helping them navigate the uncertainty, isolation, and stress that can come with ongoing medical conditions. My clinical experience spans a range of medical specialties, including bariatric surgery, burn care, integrative medicine, urology, pain and addiction medicine, and pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant. These experiences have shaped an approach that blends medical understanding with psychological care, supporting patients in improving quality of life and finding sustainable ways to care for both body and mind.
My training experiences span community mental health, school-based services, and academic medical centers including Children’s National Medical Center and MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. I completed my clinical residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before beginning my postdoctoral fellowship here at Brickell Psychology. What has stayed consistent across all settings is my belief that change happens in connection. My hope is that therapy offers a space to build that connection in a way that allows you to feel understood and supported as we work together toward meaningful progress.
