I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a rich and meaningful life, and psychotherapy can be a powerful catalyst for change. Psychotherapy can be about working to resolve ongoing pain, or it can simply be about self-exploration and growth. In addition, therapy can help you heal, grow and connect more deeply to yourself and others and my goal is to help you achieve a greater sense of control over your life, your choices, and your relationships.

Through empathic listening, warmth, humor, and genuine engagement, it is my belief that a trusting relationship between the client and therapist is the starting point for progress and is essential to achieving long-lasting change. I strive to create an empowering and non-judgmental safe space for you to feel heard, seen and understood while also feeling supported and accepted. My hope is that therapy can be useful in providing tools to relieve immediate stress while also helping uncover the underlying meanings of unwanted or distressing symptoms and feelings to create a more satisfying and fulfilling life.

I practice from an insight-oriented, collaborative, and individualized approach using an integration of various modalities and interventions, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-focused treatment, allowing for a more tailored style to meet each person’s unique needs. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, sexual specific concerns, veterans, and other common mental health conditions. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy and testing services at Brickell Psychology, both in person and via telehealth throughout Florida.

I received a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University in Miami and completed my internship at the Miami VA Healthcare System in the General Psychiatry Track. I received a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, and I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida. I attended the Florida Post Graduate Sex Therapy Training Institute and received certification in treating sexual specific concerns.

In addition, I have completed several externships at the Miami VA within the Behavioral Health Clinic. I have trained using various evidence-based treatment approaches (ACT, DBT, PE, CPT) and have experience working with military sexual trauma, combat trauma, and veterans who have suffered spinal cord injuries. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and integrate the Gottman approach when working with couples. In addition, I have an extensive history of working in community mental health, providing services for children and families.

I consider it a privilege to accompany you on your journey to achieving greater harmony and balance in your life. Please contact me to schedule a consultation.
