Vulnerability and connection are at the foundation of my therapeutic approach. Whether you are struggling with academic and/or social pressures or a parent wanting to learn how to support and reconnect with your teen, we all crave connection and safety. My goal as a clinician is to create an environment where clients and families feel safe to embrace their emotions and learn to trust their ability to experience and express their needs and emotions in adaptive ways.
I currently work as the Family Therapist and Assistant Clinical Director for one of the largest and leading national providers of eating disorder treatment for adolescents. My areas of clinical expertise and interest include: depression/mood disorders, anxiety, families, body image, bullying, eating disorders, and self-harm behaviors. I take an individualized approach to therapy and specialize in the following treatment modalities: cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based stress reduction, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
I have trained in several medical facilities, hospitals, and university counseling centers, specializing in the treatment of adolescents and adults with co-occurring mental and physical health disorders. I also have extensive experience working with college aged clients and children diagnosed with learning and behavioral disorders. I received my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Barry University. I completed my clinical internship at Florida International University’s Counseling Center and have completed externships and received specialized training at various sites including Jackson Memorial Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Monte Nido and Affiliates, and several private practices in South Florida.
I look forward to the opportunity to take this journey together!
